Bootsy Collins wore this Duck Tape suit to “Absolute Funk: An Interstellar Trip to Honor George Clinton,” a red-carpet celebration for the Prime Minister of Funk at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater on Oct. 25, 2011—a night which also happened to be Bootsy’s own sixtieth birthday. Yes, you read that right: Duck Tape suit. This three-piece ensemble—tophat, jacket, and bottoms—was custom made from Duck Tape for Bootsy by the Duck Brand, America’s leading producer of the sticky stuff, as part of its promotional efforts to launch its new line of multi-colored duct tape that year.
